[Studio Scene] FK Torso Rig | Fake FK/IK

This scene contains a fake FKIK rig.
You’ll have access to FK spine and shoulders and IK limbs.
Not ideal for animations.
Example:

Required: Latest version of HSUS, Nodes Constraints and HSPE.

Download the scene from my Studio folder HERE.
There’s one for male and female.

To Use:

  1. Load or import scene.
  2. Replace the [IK]Character that’s inside the folder with your character.
  3. Replace the [FK]Character that’s outside the folder with same character.
  4. Manipulate the yellow folders to see what each one does.
  5. For facial expressions and fingers, select the [FK]Character and edit like normal.
  6. To move entire character, move the [Man] or [Woman] folder.

Left: [IK] and [FK] characters are mismatched. Controllers not aligned.
Right [IK] and [FK] Characters are the same. Controllers are aligned.


When posing the character, you will be using the [folders] inside the [Woman]/[Man] folder. These correspond to existing IK and FK handles.



Depending on how you parent each of the [folders], you can move multiple nodes at the same time, thus making it easier to tweak your poses.

To Transfer to Normal FK Character.

  1. Select the [FK]Character.
  2. Save as pose preset.
  3. Load pose preset on new character.
  4. Readjust the central controller to realign.


Example: Loading a saved preset. The new character is tilted and must be rotated at the center.

Tip: If you select the FK character and click [Copy Transform], you can paste that transform onto the central controller of the new character to quickly fix realignment.

Pose transfer has be completed. It matches perfectly with the FKIK rig.


Tips and Tricks
Since the controls are mostly all folders, you can move most of these folders around to your liking. For example, you can move the left hand folder into the right hand folder and move both together. Useful for two handed weapons.

You can also use the same parenting method to make a fake FK limb if you want to rotate an entire leg or arm.

Use the [Torso] folder group to move the hips and waist instead of the [Hip] and [Waist] controllers.


Issues:

Not useful in animation due to how the [FK]Character is connected to the [IK]Character.

Certain controllers may offset. Usually the shoulders.

Some controls will not transfer to a pose preset unless you’re using a mod that enables them. These are typically the second foot ankle, and face.
